【The Concept】

The soft elegance of cold iron.
While the history of Nambu cast iron spans 400 years—largely defined by heavy tea kettles and austere tools—this particular mid-century specimen achieves something profoundly difficult: it renders the rigidity of cast iron into a delicate, breathing form. Modeled after an aristocratic Siamese cat once loved by a Showa-era grandmaster, this piece acts as a quiet rebellion within traditional Japanese craft.

【The Architecture】

A streamlined phantom.
Every anatomical detail has been subtracted to achieve a streamlined phantom of feline grace. The long, horizontal line of the back flowing seamlessly into an impossibly slender tail reflects an intense sculptural intelligence. From any vantage point, the artifact radiates tension and composure. At only 200g and 15cm in length, it is small, yet its metallic density commands an undeniable, dark gravity in the room.

【Material Integrity】

The elusive "Sabiiro" patina.
Instead of the standard lacquered black common in commercial ironwork, this object exhibits a specialized "Sabiiro" (oxidized bronze-brown rust) patina—a guarded, complex finishing technique developed over centuries by one of Iwate's oldest royal forge lineages. It is a texture designed to age and mature continuously with the environment of its guardian.

【Presence】

A multifunctional shadow.
Perfectly scaled for a modern home or professional desk, this "Room Friend" effortlessly assumes practical functions—its slender tail acting as a valet for cherished rings, or its solid frame holding down architectural blueprints. Whether utilized or purely observed, it offers a poetic moment of Zen against the stark backdrop of digital workspaces.
